As Hercule Poirot was fond of saying, "Mon, ami, the voices of the little gray cells have begun to sing to Poirot..."  My little gray cells think it's a good idea to post the view from my kitchen sink window each month and share the musings that come to me while washing dishes....

I Resolve To....

Do you make New Year's resolutions?  I think I quit making them somewhere in my 30's--which is a long time ago.  But sometimes one has to resolve to do something in order to make it happen, and by making it public, I'm making it a little harder for me to renege on it.  So here goes.....

I, Cathy, resolve to:

• figure out how to use all the features available on Blogger that I see other bloggers using
• be more creative with my blog
• blog more often
• lose the extra pounds I put on over the holidays (this one has nothing to do with my blog, but, hey, I'm on a roll!  (Yikes! I'm already thinking of food...I LOVE rolls with butter!)

That should be enough to get me started.

So, would anyone like to make some resolutions that I can hold them to?

We did not go as far afield this December.   We got our tree from a nearby tree farm, as usual....

Getting ready for Christmas in our family starts with going to a Christmas Tree farm and cutting down our tree.   We started this tradition with our first Christmas in 1969 when it was just the two of us and continued it with our three boys.  Now we are back to just the two of us and I finally get to choose which one we get.   We found the only farm, I think, which offers Hemlocks.  I fell in love with them because they look so delicate....

Out and About - November

We'd been saving our day trip on the back roads to Gettysburg until it was warm enough to put the top down on the Roadster.  The clouds were finally moving on out of the area....

Sunflowers

 ♫I'll Follow the Sun♫

I have a thing for sunflowers.  I love how they'll follow the sun throughout the day.  And on a chilly day like today, I find their sunny faces warm me.  It's rare that I buy myself flowers, but when I do, they're sunflowers like these I bought earlier this week....

....and like I did when we were on Martha's Vineyard last year.  They graced my morning devotional time on the terrace behind the Carriage House we rented for the week....
