The reason we removed all the grass from our front yard and put down pea gravel is because of the voles! We found 2 dead in our little pond once. I haven't seen any traces voles in the front yard since.
What an enchanting yard... the huge tree, what is that... so beautiful.. and Gabriel looks so white.. look at all the green coming up. wow... and what is that a statue of.. a child dancing right... bliss is here and peace for sure. Love all you do , Cathy thank yo for this .. gift.. Merri
The tree is actually is one of several Arborvitae that have been here at least 50 years I should think. I cut off the lower limbs when it started growing over the little pond we put in 30 years ago. The statue I found in a yard sale and placed on a pedestal. I painted it to look like concrete--although some of the paint has come off. The child is holding a bird in his hand.
I visited your blog, Titti, and I am quite surprised that you have Spring before I do! Lovely photos. I felt inspired by your blog. Thank you for visiting mine and leaving a comment. ❤️
I know Spring feels like it is never going to get here! I wish my spring lasted longer than 2 weeks before summer heat begins. Love seeing the crocuses!
I have 2 more crocus in bloom as of today! I agree, 2 weeks is not nearly long enough for Spring. Maybe I should be more appreciative of my wait since we can generally count on April and May being lovely months before we get the heat of summer.
My Mom always said it wasn't REALLY Spring until you saw A - a robin and B - a crocus. In my experience, it's always been the crocus that shows up first. And in your garden, they may be especially fond of Westies! Happy Spring!!
That and forsythia around here. I finally bought some bushes a few years ago, but the deer love to much on them. Consequently, they have not done very well. But there are others along the main road I can depend on to announce the arrival of Spring here on our mountain.
It's coming, Cathy. It won't be long now. Voles have eaten all the crocus in my gardens.

ReplyDeleteHe was too busy investigating the smells around our little pond!
