And the Winner Is

Downton Abbey Season 5 begins a week from this Sunday--January 4th. . . .

And to help all my Downton Abbey fans celebrate I'm announcing the winners of my Give-Away today----and you didn't even know you entered your name in the drawing!  That's because everyone who left a comment on my Downtown Abbey post back in October has been entered (except, unfortunately, my overseas commenters).

As you recall I bought two tins of tea at the Winterthur gift shop. . . .Grantham's Breakfast Tea (organic assam black tea with ginger). . . .
 . . . .and Lady Cora's Evening Tea (caffeine-free blend of chamomile and lemon verbena). . . .

I have numbered the five qualifying entries in the order of your comment (I'm so sorry to have eliminate my oversea commenters because of the outrageous postal fees). . . .
1.  Sharon Calvert
2.  Donna @ Briarwood Cottage
3.  Martha Ellen
4.  Dotsie @ Podso
5.  Janet Miller
. . . .thrown the die twice. . . .

Congratulations to Martha Ellen and Donna!  And because Martha Ellen's number came up first she gets first choice of which tea she would like.  Martha, just tell me in the comment section below which one.  I have your address already.  Donna, you will need to send me your address, though.  You can find the link to my e-mail on my Profile page and I will send the tea that Martha Ellen doesn't choose.

And to help you set the mood for your tea party. . . .

If you would like to sing along with this song you can find the lyrics here.

  3. What a lovely surprise you planned, Cathy! We unhooked from the tv world a number of years ago but I certainly understand the appeal of the program. I'm sure Martha Ellen and Donna will enjoy their gifts for the new season of programs.
Wishing you and your family all good things in the coming year.

  4. What a lovely surprise to discover upon going online this evening! I would love to receive the Grantham's Breakfast tea. I'm looking forward to the new season of Downton Abbey. Thank you Cathy for the sweet surprise! I trust you and your family enjoyed a lovely Christmas and are still enjoying the glow of the season. We still have a house full and I am relaxing with my feet up for a few minutes.♥

    1. There you are! I love surprising people! I will be sending off Lord Grantham's Breakfast tea to you in the morning and Lady Cora's Evening Tea will be sent off to Donna. I have been told by two people that Donna is no longer "on-line," but her address has been supplied, so she'll be receiving a SURPRISE package in the mail from me. What fun!

  5. What a great way to do a give away. Everyone likes surprises I think! At least of this nature. Lovely gifts. We watched the new season this past month and i have to say it was not my favorite at all. I did like one story line so that kept us going. Hope you had a nice Christmas and next year will be even more fun with your granddaughter as she figures out a bit more about how to open a present! Wishing you all the best in this new year ...

    1. We did have a nice Christmas. Thank you. And yes, Olivia was more interested in the bows this year than the gifts. Wishing you all the best in the new year, too!

  6. What a lovely thing to do Cathy.
I send gifts to America & yes postage fees are so high so I am always weighing things roughly in my hands!
I hope you had a wonderful Christmas, I am just catching up on the internet now after Christmas.
We watched the Downton Christmas Special the other night, such beautiful costumes.
    Fondly Michelle

  7. Almost a Secret Santa! I am sure the ladies will be thrilled!
I am always posting to America, and have worked out the fine art of lightweight cards and gifts! I wouldn't wish my Christmas postage bill on anyone! :)
I can sense all the excitement as D~Day {Downton Day} approaches ~ and I assure you, you will not be disappointed! The Christmas Special was worth waiting for too ~ as if we have a choice other than to wait.

  11. Happy New Year Dearest Cathy :-D
That was a great surprise give away and congrats to the winners ;-)

I noticed that someone commented up above that they unpugged TV (we too unplugged TV a few years back) but Downton can be watched on; PBS on line for free! That's how we see it.

Sending much warmth and may your New Year be filled with JOY and many BLESSINGS!!
    Hugs, Linnie
