Our House

Welcome to my home!

I don't know about you, but I love to see where people live, especially if I correspond with them.  With that in mind, I'm including these slideshows of my home and gardens.....Click first photo for slideshows in each category in the Tabs at the top of my web journal.....

    1. I've changed the colors in various rooms over the years. I'm the painter in the family. Many times my husband would come home from a business trip and find I'd painted a room and rearranged the furniture.

  2. Your home is lovely, Cathy. Personal touches everywhere. I'm jealous too - you have a fireplace in your dining room which is one of the Must-Haves on my list - if and when I ever win the lottery and build [or renovate] a house. Double-hung windows, a kitchen sink with a window and a dining room fireplace - those are the dealbreakers for me. Plus you have a kitty-certified and approved guest room! Hope you're keeping warm and talk to you soon!

    1. Thank you, Janet. We've lived in this house for almost 33 years now so we've had lots of time to add the personal touches. The dining room was originally the living room, so that is why there is a fireplace there. The 2nd owners added what is now the livingroom. We're the 3rd owner. We added the fireplace to the livingroom. With three sons all grown and gone, we now have three guestrooms! I love that they can all come home for Thanksgiving or Christmas and stay the night. I don't see how people can down-size to smaller houses just because they're kids have left.

  3. Cathy, I'm just now viewing all your 'tabs' featuring your beautiful home and garden(s) ... wow! Although we've been married 47 years and counting, we've never lived in one place longer than 16 years. It's obvious you've put a lot of love, hard work, and resources into making it 'home.' Your little granddaughter is in for a real treat!

    1. Thank you Sharon. Living in one place for a long time does certainly make a difference, if not just for the motivation to change things up a bit. I moved 15 times in my first 18 years of life so was use to change!
