Welcoming in the New Year - 2017

Dear Friends and Readers,

I've had a full day writing New Year's posts for my various web journals.  I hope you will look in the side bar to check them out and join me there.  I have a new series started for Another Perfect Day 365 called Thanks-Living.  It is an adjunct web journal to Another Perfect Day where I introduced what I will be doing on APD365.  I will continue to post once a month on Another Perfect Day, and as the spirit moves me on I Come In The Little Things.  Freedom in Christ is a daily devotional I posted in 2011.  You can't sign up for it since it is not "active" but you can go to the site and read the devotionals each day.  Take Joy Society features the group's get-togethers as well as a monthly piece on Susan Branch this year on the first of each month.  I also add links to the tabs at the top of the page that I hope will inspire and uplift the reader.  That leaves this web journal, Morning Musings.

I started this web journal so that I could connect with people out in the world.  I've grown quite fond of you all and appreciate the feedback you give me in the comments.  I say all this because I hope you do not jump ship if I do not post as often as I have in the past.  I have no plans to continue with the monthly artist feature.  As for the other monthly features, they may also go by the wayside, as well, if I find I do not have any ideas left after I've spent them on the other web journals.  I'd rather not post, than post something not up to my standards.

The Annie Dillard quote above expresses what I hope this year will be for me--a time of discovering how to get in touch with who I really am and live that life.  Writing helps me do that--writing about what matters most to me.

Part of that will be to finally illustrate my Gabriel's Tale story and self-publish it.  Along with that will be an updating of my Poetry & Gabriel website--the ever-changing technology has rendered it's features inoperable.  It contains the prequel to Gabriel's Tale.  I've already written a second adventure and have ideas for a third.  In addition, I have a dozen other children's stories I could illustrate eventually.  This has been a dream of mine for a long time and I feel the time is right to put all my energy there.

Until later,

❤️Take Joy❤️

It is JOYFUL to read here how selfless you are and how caring and loving for the world. Your kids books will be also for us BIG KIDS too!! 2. Sounds like you're organized & ready to go for 2017, Cathy. You amaze me, truly. I don't know how I'd ever come up with material for ONE blog and you juggle how many of them? At least THREE that I follow. And I know there are more! Amazing. Well, as I already said on another of your recent posts, I'm looking forward to seeing what you write about this year. On ALL your blogs! I know for sure that I'll learn new things and NEVER be disappointed. Not that you're here to make sure I'm happy, of course. LOL. Am eager to read "Gabriel's Story" - he's the perfect subject for a children's book. So much personality - and so darned cute too.
Have a great first week of the year! 💛

    1. Well, Janet, I amaze myself sometimes--I don't know HOW I come up with some of what I do, either--so I can only believe I am just "receiving and sharing". 😊 Your eagerness to read "Gabriel's Tale" encourages me to get busy! ❤️

  4. I am always so impressed by the number of blogs you juggle, Cathy. I can barely manage to keep one blog limping along! It sounds like you have some wonderful plans for 2017. I hope when Gabriel's Story gets published you will make it available to all of us. Fergus and I would love to purchase a copy! Happy New Year!

    1. Well, the only reason I have so many is because it's the way I organize my thoughts! I have to have a "theme" in order to be creative. I did that with my kids birthday parties, too. It's the only way I can come up with ideas. You could have a blog only about knitting and another about the area you live in, etc. You might be surprised how that primes the well. To be sure I'll make my book available--but I get the feeling it's going to be expensive to print, so that may limit it's actual sales. We'll see! Have you blogged about how you got your publisher? Mine will probably be print-on-demand because I don't want to invest a lot of money up front to print the quantity necessary to make it viable. I haven't even gotten that far, though, to check it all out. MUST ILLUSTRATE IT FIRST. 😜

  7. I too am intrigued at all the web journals you keep up with. I will have to spend more time with your others especially if I don't see you as much here, as I would miss your writing and art. It's interesting to hear you mention in a comment response about having different blogs with different themes. I've been reading some blogs today where they mention changing their style of blogging and discussing new things, etc. Most of all I admire your thinking and organization and ability to follow your interests and pursuits with purpose. Wishing you all the best in this new year, and enjoy those growing grandchildren!
